PERHAPS WHAT STOOD OUT the most as I was working on this edition of HORIZON was the theme of uncertainty followed by unexpected resolution. Sister Laurie Brink, O.P., whom we interviewed for this issue, summed it up perfectly. When asked about the future of religious life, which some consider uncertain, she responded by saying, “I would be concerned if we had a sense of certitude! That would leave little room for the Holy Spirit.” You’ll have to read the full interview to learn what she said next, but her words are fitting and motivated me to continue my work, knowing that God would indeed provide.
