Pre-Convocation Workshop: Called to Serve the Church in 2050

content_katherine_angulo.jpg
Miss Katherine Angulo Valenzuela

Come a day early to elevate your skills and enhance your ministry!  This workshop is designed for vocation ministers, leadership teams, and all those responsible for the admissions process. Workshop registration for NRVC members is $250, which includes a buffet lunch. The price for non-members is $375.

A common narrative about younger generations is the disaffiliation from their Catholic faith. This language of disaffiliation, similar to a single narrative of diminishment, can create an environment of hopelessness among those in ministry with young adults. This workshop is not about despair. On the contrary, the presenter is focused on building cultures of engagement that invite the Church of 2050 to the incredible mission that God has for them in responding to their vocation.

During this workshop, participants will explore together:

  • What impacts young adult faith choices, their decision-making, how they spend their time, the impact of technology, and family relationships/commitments?

  • What influences their culture

  • How do today’s young adults build communities, connect to the Church, participate in service immersion experiences, and nurture their faith with all its expressions?

In other words, come ready to participate and to share what has been helpful and not so helpful in meeting young adults as Katherine facilitates best practices and professional insights with an animated presentation on her numerous experiences.
