Storymap: Religious Life Today

A visually rich and interactive way to understand the 2020 NRVC/CARA Study

Access the NRVC Storymap here.

Through an Esri storymapping tool, we have created a repository of information about women and men religious with highly visual and interactive elements.  The NRVC storymap presents the 2020 NRVC/CARA Study on Recent Vocations to Religious Life in an attractive way to promote the vibrancy of religious life through a narrative of abundant hope.

For vocation directors:

  • Present data in a way that will help vocation directors in their ministry
  • Provide a clear portrait of who is attracted to religious life
  • Show the data in authentic and positive ways
  • Provide hope for the future of religious life

For vocation discerners:

  • Help discerners understand who is entering religious life
  • Showcase the breadth and depth of religious institutes and diversity in religious life
  • Encourage their discernment and give them hope
  • Provide information and additional resources for vocation discernment

For collaborators:

  • Provide an avenue to share work
  • Develop a repository for information on religious life
  • Create opportunities for additional collective efforts

For donors and benefactors:

  • Assure donors and grantors of the viability of religious life
  • Present the data in attractive and easy-to-understand ways
  • Invite ongoing support of NRVC’s mission
  • Inspire broad engagement to sustain vocations
