The National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC) is committed to providing its membership with resources, workshops, and other programs that strengthen and enhance the professional skills of those serving in vocation ministry. NRVC strongly suggests that vocation ministers participate in opportunities to further develop their professional competencies. Each year NRVC provides vocation ministers serving in today’s church various opportunities for professional growth through its comprehensive Summer Institute. The workshops are designed for those who wish to deepen their understanding of the complex theological, spiritual, psycho-sexual, ethical, and diversity issues often present in contemporary vocation ministry.
Our annual Summer Institute will offer four workshops at the downtown campus of DePaul University, July 8-22. It’s your choice as to how many workshops to participate in this summer. Located in the popular Chicago Loop at Jackson and State streets, DePaul University is easily accessible from both Midway and O’Hare airports by shuttle and rapid transit trains. The Loop Campus is located at 1 East Jackson Boulevard in Chicago, Illinois 60604-2287. For more information, go to http://www.depaul.edu/about/campuses/

Overnight accommodations are available at the University Center, which is just two blocks from DePaul University. Enjoy the convenience of having your workshop close to restaurants, shopping, museums and Lake Michigan. The University Center offers private bedrooms in a four person apartment suite with other NRVC workshop participants. Weekly linen service is included as well as an in-room microwave, stove, and refrigerator. Each apartment suite also contains a flat screen TV with basic cable and complimentary internet access. For more information, visit http://universitycenter.com/inside/. Limited rooms are available; make your overnight accommodations when you register for your workshop through www.nrvc.net. Please do not call the University Center for reservations.
Register online for all workshops. Find links to the online registration form following each workshop description. Please note that as of June 27, 2014, there is a $100 late fee per workshop to register.
The numbers of participants was just enough for our workshop to run smoothly, enough time to answer each individual’s questions, and I got to know each one in our group . . . in a way that speaks to us as collaborators in vocation ministry.—Sister Palepa Ioane, S.M.S.M.
